How to Know The Best Times To Sell Antiques At An Auction
Thursday, February 11th, 2021
Auctions are a great place to find rare treasures that are unique and distinctive. Trying to decide when to sell your pieces can be difficult. Will people be there? Will people like what you have? Are people actually going to bid on your items? There are so many questions that can stop people from selling at an auction. In this article, we are going to tell you what we have found that are the best times to sell your antiques at an auction.
Keep weather in mind
You may think that sunny and warm weather is the best time to sell at an auction. This is because people are already out and the possibility of them attending an auction may be high. This is not always the case. Unless the auction is outdoors, people may want to spend their time doing something else that is outside since the weather allows them to. The perfect weather for auctions is rainy, snowy, and cold. This is because they aren’t able to do other activities in this weather, so they will want to spend it indoors. These weather conditions also have people wanting to spend their money that they “saved for a rainy day”, and this will be the perfect opportunity for that.
During the week
The best time to hold an auction is during the week. Wait, what? Yes, that is right. This is because there is little to no competition. Most people are going to hold their auctions on the weekend. Now, the weekends aren’t always bad to have an auction. You will just need to make sure that you are advertising and making sure that whatever you have at your auction, will be more interesting than the next person.
Time of year
This is also the same as the weather. The months where the weather is less than ideal would be the best time to have an auction. There are fewer people that are going to be competing against you. The summer months aren’t the perfect time to be holding auctions. That is because the weather is nice and people are going to be doing outdoor activities, traveling, and other things that would take their time away from an auction. It is also important to keep in mind that tourist areas aren’t going to be the best place either. When tourists visit, they want to see historical places, go to amusement parks, or see national parks. Their minds aren’t going to be in the auction mode.
